Remember WannaCry?
This name continues to cause a lot of panic around the world. We know that there is a very strong reason for this:
Last year, WannaCry has paralyzed the work of more than 10,000 organizations in the world, causing invaluable financial and intellectual damage. It is the worst ransomware attack the world has ever seen.
So don’t be scared if you hear about WannaCry a few more times throughout your life. In recent times, fraudsters have been using the strength of the name WannaCry to provoke fear and terror.
Recently, hundreds of people reported to have received emails claiming that their devices had been infected by WannaCry ransomware. The message warned that their files would be deleted if a ransom was not paid in Bitcoin.
Fraud values range from $200 to about $800.
Be aware that this is another phishing scam, in which fraudsters try to extort victims through threat and fear. Don’t fall for it.
